Kissimmee resident faces serious allegations following multi-agency probe |
The Osceola County Sheriff's Office has arrested Janderson Freitas-Leite, a 47-year-old resident of Kissimmee, on multiple felony charges related to the possession of child sexual abuse materials.
This arrest follows a comprehensive investigation initiated by a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).
According to authorities, NCMEC alerted the sheriff's office about an individual in Osceola County using the dark web to purchase illegal content with Bitcoin.
Detectives from the Internet Crimes Against Children Unit executed a search warrant on November 14 at Freitas-Leite's apartment in The Teale Apartments complex.
During the search, multiple electronic devices, including cell phones and laptops, were seized for forensic analysis.
The subsequent review provided probable cause for his arrest.
On November 20, Freitas-Leite was taken into custody and booked into the Orange County Jail.
He faces eight counts of possession of photo/video depicting the sexual performance of a child and one count of unlawful use of a two-way communication device.
He is currently being held without bond.
The Osceola County Sheriff's Office emphasized their commitment to protecting the community and enhancing public safety.
They urge anyone with information related to this case or similar incidents to contact them at 407-348-2222.
This case underscores the ongoing efforts of law enforcement agencies to combat the exploitation of children through online platforms.
