Osceola County, Fla. — In a celebration of educational excellence, Kyndall Brown, an agriculture teacher at Harmony Middle School, has been named the Osceola School District's Teacher of the Year.
Brown's innovative approach to agriscience education has significantly enriched the learning experiences of over 200 students annually.
Her curriculum, meticulously aligned with Florida standards, is enhanced by hands-on activities that bring agricultural concepts to life.
Under her guidance, Harmony Middle's FFA teams have not only qualified for state-level competitions but have also secured three state championships in Ornamental Horticulture.
Brown's dedication extends beyond the classroom.
She has successfully obtained grant funding from the Florida Farm Bureau Federation and the Florida Wildlife Conservation Commission, providing students with real-world agricultural and environmental experiences.
Additionally, she founded the Harmony Middle Fishing Club, a program that fosters inclusion and confidence among students from diverse backgrounds.
Superintendent Dr. Mark Shanoff praised Brown, stating, "Ms. Brown exemplifies the highest standards of teaching excellence, innovation, and community engagement."
Brown will now represent Osceola County in the Florida Department of Education's 2027 Teacher of the Year competition.
