20-Year-Old Davenport Woman Dies After Fiery Single-Vehicle Crash

A tragic accident late Friday night resulted in the death of a 20-year-old woman from Davenport.

 

The incident occurred around 11:53 p.m. on February 6 along Osceola Polk Line Road, just east of Heritage Pass.

 

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the woman was driving a 2017 Ford Fusion westbound at a high rate of speed when she lost control of the vehicle.

 

The car veered off the roadway, struck a tree, and became fully engulfed in flames upon impact.

 

Emergency responders pronounced the driver dead at the scene.

 

No other vehicles were involved in the crash.

 

Authorities have not released the woman's name, pending notification of next of kin.

 

The Florida Highway Patrol is continuing its investigation into the cause of the accident.

 

Osceola Polk Line Road has been the focus of recent infrastructure developments aimed at improving safety and traffic flow.

 

In November 2023, construction began on the Visions Resort & Spa at 7007 Osceola Polk Line Road, a $170 million mixed-use community featuring luxury residences and retail spaces.

 

Additionally, plans are underway to widen County Road 532 (Osceola Polk Line Road) to alleviate congestion and enhance regional connectivity.
