20-Year-Old Davenport Woman Dies After Fiery Single-Vehicle Crash

A 20-year-old woman from Davenport lost her life in a devastating car accident late Friday night along Osceola Polk Line Road, just east of Heritage Pass.

Authorities report the woman was driving westbound at high speed in a 2017 Ford Fusion before losing control.

The vehicle veered off the road, struck a tree, and immediately caught fire.

Emergency responders pronounced her dead at the scene; no other vehicles were involved.

Her identity has not yet been released as family are being notified.

The Florida Highway Patrol is continuing their investigation into the cause.

This tragedy comes as Osceola Polk Line Road undergoes major improvements, including expansions and the new Visions Resort & Spa construction, underscoring the need for extra caution amid rapid area growth.

Condolences go out to the victim’s loved ones during this extremely difficult time.

Local Business Owners: Don’t Overlook Retirement Plans

Local business owners juggle increasing revenue, controlling costs, supporting staff, and planning for their own futures.

Offering a workplace retirement plan can help achieve all these goals at once.

Tax advantages abound, as employer contributions reduce taxable income, and staff can defer salary pretax, meaning investments grow tax-deferred.

The SECURE 2.0 Act brings even more value, giving eligible small businesses credits that can cover every cent of startup costs—up to $5,000 a year for three years—and an extra $500 for adopting automatic enrollment.

This makes retirement plans more affordable than ever.

Retirement benefits also boost recruiting and retention, showing your employees their futures matter.

Most plans offer financial education, supporting smarter decisions and a positive, productive workplace.

By choosing your own plan, you skirt state mandates and enjoy flexibility in design and investment options.

Start building security for you and your team—and set your business up for lasting success.
