Osceola County celebrates the opening of the new Fire Station 43 in Campbell City, representing a major boost to local public safety.
Strategically located on Whispering Pines Boulevard, this state-of-the-art facility replaces the outdated Broad Street station, positioning firefighters closer to residents for faster response times.
The $13.8 million, 12,700-square-foot complex includes advanced living quarters, dedicated training spaces, and four expansive apparatus bays to accommodate current and future vehicles.
Chief Larry Collier notes the move strengthens emergency services countywide.
Station 43 serves as home base for Rescue 43, a key EMS unit, and Squad 43, a versatile Special Operations team.
Specialized vehicles like Tanker 43 and Brush 43 also ensure readiness for both water supply needs and wildland firefighting.

Kyndall Brown, an agriculture teacher at Harmony Middle School, has been honored as the Osceola School District’s Teacher of the Year for her outstanding dedication and innovative agriscience teaching.
Her hands-on, standards-aligned curriculum reaches over 200 students annually, guiding FFA teams to three state championships in Ornamental Horticulture and state-level competitions.
She also secures vital grants and founded Harmony Middle’s Fishing Club, creating opportunities for students from all backgrounds.
Brown will now represent Osceola County in the statewide Teacher of the Year race.
Jessica Mintz of St. Cloud Elementary was named School-Related Employee of the Year, Jeffrey Schwartz at Poinciana High received Principal of the Year for leading the school to its first “A” grade, and Frankie Franceschi of Denn John Middle was recognized as Assistant Principal of the Year.
